Description:: SBS is the only charity in Newcastle that uses horses to engage with disadvantaged young people. We offer an equestrian club for young people aged 8 - 18 where young people learn practical skills such as stable yard management, mucking out and grooming horses. These activities provide young people with a sense of responsibility as well as equipping them with the confidence and experience to reach their full potential. The young people we support work closely with our horses and can access free riding lessons, as well as information and advice to help them achieve qualifications and gain valuable work experience. You can also mention about the therapeutic benefits of horse interaction. In addition to our stables, we have a newly refurbished room with a sofa, board games, games consoles, arts and craft materials and TV where young people can connect with others and offer peer to peer support.
